Colton Does President's Day
C: This water broke into pieces last night!
Me: Yeah, the ice melted.
C: If you stay in your exercise class for the whole hour, you will earn the big hug I'm gonna give you!
C: How many hockey games do we have left?
Me: 3 games and 3 practices, I think. And then we'll have a nice, big break.
C: And I might go into the HL!
Me: Not without lots of practice.
C: I don't want to practice.
Me: That's the only way you'll get into the NHL, bud.
C: Dad can't hold any more babies! He already has 2!
C: I'm just hiding in here (wardrobe) because this show is really scary. And also because I have a horrible cough.
C: Do you know what else we get to do?!
Dad: What?
C: Eat more pie!

We Do Not Eat Our Coltons
| C: On Saturday, I'm gonna go on a date! Heartbreaker! C: On Saturday or Sunday morning, I will be home from my date. Me: Yeah? C: Yeah. We have to go 20 or 50 miles. Me: That's a long date. C: No, Dad, you can't eat me today! Dad: Why not? C: Because Mom won't let me do lots of stuff if you eat me. Me: Do you remember what number to dial in an emergency? C: 9-1-1. Me: Yeah, and do you know when to dial that number? C: No. Me: When you need a policeman, a fireman, or an ambulance you dial that number. C: My fire truck has a man! Me: And does he help put out fires at peoples' houses? C: No, he takes care of their plants. Dad: Hey Colton, we're gonna trade you in at the used baby store. C: No, I want to keep being a big boy! C: Dad if you put me in timeout one more time, I'll put you in a nap and not let you come out! C: Hey, can I have some of that eating stuff? Dad: Yes, you can have some of this eating stuff. C: Is it broccoli? Dad: Nope, it's asparagus. C: Can I have some? Dad: Yep! |

Old Robe Canyon
Gorgeous day for a gorgeous hike! Took the kiddo out to Old Robe Canyon in hopes of getting to poke around some old train tunnels, but unfortuately a slide had taken out the trail a little over a mile in, and made it too tough for little legs to climb over. Colton walked the whole way though, telling us what a Really Useful Engine he was (he has a Thomas problem) and all the puddles drew him in, as expected. Got some wonderful pics too!
