Oh, Infinity!

   C: Oh, infinity and beyond!
C: Can I smell your sock?
Me: I guess?
C: Hey Mom, my nose can't smell your sock.
Me: Yeah, it's all stuffed up, huh.

C: I'm at my date!  I'm tired and have to go to sleep.
Exciting date!

C: Goodnight, Mom! *kiss* Now you can go to sleep.  But we forgot to brush your teeth and floss.
Me: Better do that.
C: This toothpaste is very spicy.  It tastes like spicy eggs!
...
C: Okay, rinse & spit.  Now we have to floss.  Open your mouth!  Harder!

C: I have a super-dooper-awesome-great idea!

C: Why is this not staying up here?
Me: That looks dangerous.
C: But I want to do that!

C: I'm super-dooper brave!  And I know a lot about stuff!

C: Was that a cool fly?

Colton on Teasing

C: Can I have some clothes?
Me: Nah, I think you should just stand there and be cold.
C: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Me: I was teasing, yes, go get some clothes.
C: I don't like it when you tease me.
...
C: Why did you trip me?
Me: I didn't trip you.  I teased you.
C: Oh. I don't like that.

C: Maybe we can eat like a family again!
Which means simply sitting at the table together.  Doesn't even need to be all of us.

Me: What should we do today, Mr. Sicky?
C: I have a good idea! Let's stay home!
Me: Sounds good.

C: Are you sending a message to me?

Me: The blanket is big enough for both of us.
C: No, it's just for ONE KID!  Not for girls!  Just for boys!

C: Is that broccoli?
Me: Nope, it's celery.
C: I don't like it.
Me: I think you might with some peanut butter on it.
C: I do like it! But you don't!  Celery makes you grow! Look at my muscles.  My muscles are as big as yours!
Dressed himself, but managed to get his jammies on backwards.

Silly Colton Is Silly

C: Something hurts on my face.
Me: Are your lips chapped?  Would you like some chapstick?
C: No, it's just my mustache that hurts.

Me: Kiwis have lots of vitamin C in them to help you get over your cold.
C: This kiwi doesn't look like A-B-C, it looks like directions!

C: Mom, I left this juice out over night.  It's 'spired.  (expired)

C: Silly Colton!  I was trying stuff that was silly.

C: Maybe we can go play outside.
Me: It's pretty cold out there, buddy.
C: You can wear my snow pants.
Me: They're a little short.
C: When I'm big enough, on Sunday, I'll get you a big, big, large one that's all the way up to the ceiling!
Me: Those will probably fit!

C: I'm gonna go downstairs to get my books, if they're still alive.

We Are Family

Colton & Jordan drive the
fire truck puzzle 2/23
6am, dark, on our way to Sarah's ~
C: When is it going to be morning time?

C: I see the moon!  It's chasing us!

C: In the car, on the way to Nana's, we saw a train!  And it was pretty awesome!

C: Maybe we could eat like a family again!
As opposed to other nights when we're not family?

Colton Takes Bargain Hunting Too Far

C: This grape isn't on sale. We have to throw it away.  Should I put it in the sink?

Me: Do you have to go potty, buddy?
C: No, I don't want to go every day!
Me: Yeah, we go every day.
C: Hey, can I have some of that juice?
Me: Drink your other juice and then I'll give you some.
C: But don't drink it all, or you'll have to go potty!

C: When are our tummies going to be all full?
Me: Whenever they're full.
C: When the big hand and the little hand both get to the 8 and the 5, then they'll be full!
Me: Uh, okay.

C: I stopped reading so I can look at the clock!

C: Do you know what this is?  It starts with an A-A-A-A-A.
Me: It's an a-a-a-apple.

Snowmaggedon!

C: I hurt my ear because I wasn't looking where I was looking!

Me: Here's your pancake!
C: Is it bigger than my head?
Me: Of course!

C: Hey Mom, I love you!
Me: I love you too!
C: I love you when you gimme new race cars!

Sitting on a snowbank ~
Me: I love the smell of wood fires.
C: Yeah, the fire is keeping me nice and warm!  It's 55°!
Me: It's a little colder than that, buddy.

Colton Has His Cake ... Every Day!

C: But I want to eat cake every day!
Dad: No, buddy.  You can’t, that wouldn’t be healthy.
C: What would be healthy?
Dad: Avocadoes, tomatoes, apples…
C: Yeah, and chicken.
Dad: Yup, and asparagus, and turnips…
C: And grown-ups!
Dad: …

Coach Annie is trying to split up the class into boys & girls ~
CA: Ok, Morgan, what are you?
Morgan: I’m a girl!
CA: And Colton, what are you?
C: I’m a girl too!
Bridger: Me too!
Uhhh....

Colton Gets Dressed

Skating 2/20
C: I like going skating here! I hadn't been here in a long time!
Me: You've never been skating here.

Me: What was your favorite part of the day?
C: No, I want you to ask me what was my favorite part of the night?
Me: Okay, what was your favorite part of the night?
C: Skating!

He did the Hokey Pokey, the Chicken Dance, and regular skate and hardly fell at all - even whilst *jumping* on his skates!  What fun!

Colton puts a bucket on his head ~
C: How does my dress look like?
Me: It looks lovely!
C: It looks gorgeous!  And bumpfy!
Me: Bumpfy?  Sure, it looks bumpfy.

C: I made you some tea! But you just get a little bit, because I am very firsty!  You don't get a cup as big as your head.

C: I'm trying to give you a kiss!
Me: Okay, give me a kiss and then go to sleep.
C: And now I'm going to give myself a kiss!

We Do Not Eat Our Coltons

C: On Saturday, I'm gonna go on a date!
Heartbreaker!

C: On Saturday or Sunday morning, I will be home from my date.
Me: Yeah?
C: Yeah. We have to go 20 or 50 miles.
Me: That's a long date.

C: No, Dad, you can't eat me today!
Dad: Why not?
C: Because Mom won't let me do lots of stuff if you eat me.

Me: Do you remember what number to dial in an emergency?
C: 9-1-1.
Me: Yeah, and do you know when to dial that number?
C: No.
Me: When you need a policeman, a fireman, or an ambulance you dial that number.
C: My fire truck has a man!
Me: And does he help put out fires at peoples' houses?
C: No, he takes care of their plants.

Dad: Hey Colton, we're gonna trade you in at the used baby store.
C: No, I want to keep being a big boy!

C: Dad if you put me in timeout one more time, I'll put you in a nap and not let you come out!

C: Hey, can I have some of that eating stuff?
Dad: Yes, you can have some of this eating stuff.
C: Is it broccoli?
Dad: Nope, it's asparagus.
C: Can I have some?
Dad: Yep!

Colton Has Good Secrets

C: You don't get to be in charge.
Me: Who will be in charge then?
C: Just Dad, and Kathy, and I!
Me: I see.

Me: Want to go to the park?
C: No! I want to go to Sarah & Jordan's for a play date.
Me: We're meeting Sarah & Jordan at the park.
C: But I want to go to their house!
Me: We'll see, you'll have to ask Sarah about that.

Me: What was your favorite part about today?
C: Eating cake. [Happy Birthday, Dawn!!]
Me: Mmm, good choice.
C: What was your favorite part?
Me: Going for a run in the sunshine with my friends!

C: I have no more secrets.
Me: Did you tell me them?
C: It was about eating cake and seeing a train.

C: See all those stars? There are some right over our house!

Me: Maybe we can go to the museum tomorrow, or go play with Sarah & Jordan?
C: With Nana?
Me: Maybe.
C: I love Nana, and I want to see her every day that you tell me to.

C: I'm gonna brush my teeth all by myself!
Me: Okay! You are certainly getting big.
C: And I'm gonna be 20 soon, and I will know how to hang by myself!  (on the monkey bars)

Colton Is Hot

Me: Your shoes are on the wrong feet.
C: I like them on the wrong feet!  They make me hot!

Me: I don't know what we're doing on Sunday.  But both Mama & Dada will be home.
C: I won't be.
Me: Do you have to work?
C: No, I will go running.  But I don't have to wear any running clothes.
Me: What will you wear?
C: I just have to go 20 miles.
Me: That's a good run.
C: Yeah.  15 and 5.

C: If you don't share your stuff, I won't share my stuff!
Me: I share with you all the time!
C: I share with you, just a little bit, when you ask nicely.

C: At Kathy & Bridger's, they brought candy!
Me: Yeah?  What kind?
C: It's called... it's called... chocolate!

C: Mom, if you call me names, I will be shocked!

C: The gates are for stopping everything that stops!

Colton Is Random

Me: Hmm, should we make asparagus for dinner?
C: Yeah, and I will eat it all!
Me: And not share with Mama & Dada?
C: No, because I am very hungry!  I won't stop eating til morning!

Me: *giggle*
C: What, Mom?
Me: Your dad.
C: But we beat Dad home! And he’ll be home late. And he’ll be tired and won’t have any sleep. I take naps!
Thank you, Mr. Random.

*CRASH!*
Me: Colton, not okay!
C: I'm sorry, Mom. Are we still friends?

C: We made a song for you today! It has ants in it.
Me: The Ants Go Marching song?
C: Yeah. And it has As in it!
Me: Yeah.  Are you going to sing it for me?
C: No. I want you to sing it!

Sitting in the sun ~
C: Mom, I'm hot and bothered.

C: I like the skulls on my tattoo!
Uhhh...  already?

Me: Where did my sunshine go, Colton?
C: It's behind the wooded trees!  There, now you can see it!

C: Where is my sunshine, Mom?
Me: Are you gonna make it come back out?
C: No, I'm just too tired.

Aw, Schmucks!

C: Why did you get two chocolates?
Me: One for you and one for Daddy for Valentine's Day.
C: Why?
Me: Because Valentine's Day is when we give each other chocolate and say "I love you."
C: Did you talk to me first?
Me: Yes, do you remember me saying I love you yesterday?

Me: What does Shannon start with?
C: Shan!

C: The lemon just poked me!
Me: You mean your fork did?
C: Yeah. And Mom, if the lemon pokes you, then you don't get any dessert.

C: My tattoo!! Downstairs, there's a water tower.
He got a temporary tattoo for helping clean up after gymnastics.

Me: All right, since you've been so patient...
C: No, I hadn't!

C: This M&M is broken!
Me: I think Mama needs to eat it.
C: But I like it!  You can have just two.  Say, "Please!"
Me: Please!
C: No, say, "Please may I have just two?"
Me: Please may I have just two?
*LOL*

Me: Will you help me remember to get some more juice tomorrow?
C: Yeah, I just want five-teen!

Me: Give me a squishy hug and a smooch!
C: No, it's a schmuck!
Valentine's Day card from Nanan

He had mac & cheese and little oranges... of course.

Got home and no little boy.  Hmm.
Me: No Colton?
Dad: Nope, no Colton.
Me: I guess there isn't a little boy around here that wants chocolate.
C (under the table): I do!

Me: You can have one M&M of every color.
C: I just want 25.

How Do You Feel a Cake?

C: Hey Mom, what are we having for dessert after breakfast?

New Play-doh cake set ~ picked out with all his change from his piggies!
C: Hey Dad, how does this cake feel?

C: What are we having for dinner?
Me: Beer-braised beef.
C: I don't like beer in my food!
Me: Good, because you're too young to drink it.

Dad: Mama bonked me on the head (on accident!) and gave me an owie.  Will you kiss it?
C: Sure! Dad, if you don't pick at your owie, it won't heal.
Dad: If I don't pick at my owie, it will heal!

C: Can I come on your date tonight?
Dad: Sorry, buddy, not this time.
(Valentine's Day HOCKEY!)

Colton Is so Helpful

Me: What would you like for breakfast?
C: Blueberry pancakes!  And can I help?
Me: Sure.  You can dump the blueberries in.
C: And I want to eat them!
Me: That would sure help.

C: Do you like me when I say, "Are you ready to play Go Fish?" and I say, "No"? That means no!
Guess I'd better play with him, eh?

Me: I was teasing.
C: I don't want you to tease me! It's not time for teasing!
Me: When do I get to tease you?
C: After Go Fish!

C: I think I'm sick.  I just need twenty more sleeps!

C: ... and it'll be ready to go to THE MOON!  But not you, Mom.  You have to stay here on Earth.
Me: How come I can't go to the moon?
C: Because it's far, far, far away on the other side of the blocking lane!

(Heh, I told him if he got dressed all by himself that he could have a cookie when we go to the store)
C: If you get your socks on all by yourself, you can have a BIG COOKIE from Safeway too! It's a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE cookie like mine!

Colton on How to Eat a Salad

Me: Mama is going to have a big salad!
C: Up to the roof?
Me: Maybe.  I'm pretty hungry.
C: You first have to stand up and start at the top. Then from the middle, the middle, and the middle, and then the bottom.
Me: Sounds like a good plan.

C: Is Daddy going to be home when we get there?
Me: Nope, we're going to beat him.
C: We gonna won the race!

C: Mom, you get to won outside, and I get to won going up the stairs!

Colton Tells It

Seriously? How old is my child?
C: Mom, do you like it when I leave your stuff at Kathy & Bridger's?
Me: Uhm, no.
C: Then next time, don't forget my owl!

Yesterday, the golden tunnels were sunbeams that he was running his fire truck through.
C: Mom, are you doing the speed lemon?
Me: Yep!
C: One day, I ran over the speed lemon!
Me: Uh-oh, and then what happened.
C: There was a golden tunnel
Me: Oh? And then what?
C: Next? It was closed.
Me: Was Henry inside?
C: No. It was empty.
Me: Are you going to open it?
C: No. It was just old.

C: At the North Pole, there aren't any parking spots. So you'll just have to park where there aren't any parking spots.
Me: Why aren't there any parking spots at the North Pole?
C: Because that one doesn't use any.

C: I just have twenty more stops! And then I will pick you up and we'll go to the North Pole and get something for Christmas!

C: Mom, when you sneeze, I call it a 'sundheit! (sounds like zoo-tight)

C: This word says "Put away your fire truck when it's time to put away your fire truck."  That's what this whole word says.  (Reading the words FIRE DEPARTMENT on the side of his truck)

Colton Sees His Shadow

            Forest Park 2/9
Me: Pretty soon it will be time to plant our squash outside!
C: Yeah, they're getting too old.  It's hard to wait for them to get old.

Me: Yay, it's sunny today!
C: It's almost gonna be spring!
Me: Woohoo!

C: Hey Mom, do you want to climb on the airplane with me?
Me: Mmm, not right now, buddy.
C: You just have to be a little kid!

Playing soccer at the spray
park ~ using this as a goal
Crawling under my legs ~
C: Hey Mom, I'm coming out of you!

C: We're at the Phoenix airport!  Do you want to come?  At Phoenix, there aren't any marshmallows.
Me: None?!
C: No.  There are just 10.

C: This wheel's kind of rough and it doesn't make a lot of friction!

Colton Makes a Rainbow

C: Remember, when it’s dark outside and it’s Christmastime and the Polar Express is leaving, you have to stop the train!

C: Mom, I really want to go back to Phoenix!
Me: Me too!

C: I don't want to take a nap! I don’t know how to go to sleep. It’s too hard to close my eyes.

C: What does red, lellow, and blue make?
Me: I don’t know, what color does it make?
C: It makes a rainbow!

Uh-oh... can't find his owl tonight.
Me: I'm sorry, buddy, but you'll have to sleep with one of your other friends.
C: But I don't like these friends!
Me: Your friends are sad that you don't like them.
C: No they aren't. I'll give them a boo-boo bunny!

New 'do!  2/7
C: Dad, I just tooted for you!
Dad: Oh, thanks.

C: Smell this, Mom! (cork)
Me: No thanks.
C: But it smells like beer and you like beer!

C: This is how you play hockey!  You have to practice really hard!

C: I'm the firementor!
Me: The what?
C: Do you know what that is?
Me: Nope.
C: It's when you have to drive really fast and hard!

Monster Is for Mom!

Me: You forgot the board.  It's hard to play Candy Land without it!
C: No, it's not!

Dad: You need to sit here.
C: But I am sitting here!
Dad: No, this is my chair.  Over there is your chair.
C: Let's start a new family!
Me: Uhhh.

Sesame Street: What begins with M?
Me: What's that Monster's name?
C: Mom!

Me: Are you ready for Abby's Flying Fairy School?
C: No. I want to stay home today!

C: I can race AND settle down.

Me: Dad's home!
C: Which dad?
Me: How many dads do you have?
C: One.

C: Mom, do you like peppers?
Me: I do!
C: I do too!  But sometimes I don't.

Colton Comes to the Rescue

C: There's a stool in the kitchen.
Me: I know.
C: It's for me!
Me: I figured.

C: Mom, can I help make dinner?
Me: Yes, please!
C: I'll come to the rescue!
Me: Are you going to help me spin the lettuce?
C: Yeah!  And I'll observe it!

C: I want sour cream for dinner!
Me: Just sour cream?
C: And beans. And sprinkle cheese! And crunchy red pepper!
Me: Any salad with that?
C: No.  Just beans.

Me: Thanks for helping me make dinner!
C: You're welcome! It's delicious!

C: I made an investigation, and you use this cup holder and this spinner, and that's how you make a lettuce spinner!

Me: Let's not play at the table and eat our salads.
C: I kinda don't like my salad.
Me: Why not?
C: You gave me too much sprinkle cheese!
Me: How can you ever have too much sprinkle cheese?
C: Because you gave me too much.
