Colton Does Christmas

C:  Since you've been the best mom, I'm going to give you a dollar!

C: Why does Dad always have to go to work?  Why didn't he get money in his stocking?

C: Amn't I the luckiest boy?

C: I'm bored watching too much TV.  Jordan, watching too much TV makes your brain hurt.
(We haven't even made it through an entire movie yet)

Me: I'm dead, so I can't eat ice cream.
C: Well, I had a health weapon so now you can eat more good ice cream.

Jordan: Tip-toe!
C: No, we can walk on our regular feet!

Colton Brightens the Day

C: Where did you get all this amazing food?!
Me: The burrito is from Taco Del Mar and the fruit is from work.
Mmm, leftovers.

C: The yogurt will make the fruit even deliciouser! Because yogurt is yummy and will make it even more yummier.

C: I see the Christmas star! No, that's not it. The Christmas star only comes out on Christmas.
But I did see a shooting star tonight...

Me: Whoa! Go try again. And this time take off your clothes before you put on your jammies.
C: It gives me more padding! For more protection.
Me: Protection from what?
C: Falling. It's more protectionned.

My heart is so heavy tonight. All my love to CT.

Colton Gets Mad

C: I NEVER WANT TO GO SHOPPING WITH YOU AGAIN!
Me: I never want to go shopping with you again either right now.  That was not fun.
C: YES IT WAS!
Me: No it wasn't!

C was mad.  Feel the madness ~
C: I'm just gonna keep staring at you!

In a moment of frustration ~
Me: I'm going to have to talk to Santa about this behavior.
C: He won't know about that.
Me: He knows.  He's watching you.
C: He can't see through walls, Mom.
Me: Yes he can.  He's magic.

Oh Christmas Colton

C: My head really hurts!
Me: How come?
C: I think I know the answer to the problem. It's because my eyebrows only go up this high!

Granddad's tree!
C: You're driving me crazy when you always tell me to pick up my clothes every time!

Decorating with Granddad and Grandma

C: I saved almost probably half of the Earth!
Playing Angry Birds Star Wars

And the stockings were hung
over the changing table with care...
C: We could put up this sign that says 'how how how.'
Me: It says Ho Ho Ho.

Colton's tree, since we don't know where else to put one this year!

Colton Places an Order

C: Do you know how you can get a touchdown when you're dribbling?
Me: How?
C: You just throw up and dribble.
Uhm... I don't think I want to do that.

C: I was thinking in my brains, do you know how I got that good?

C: I'm gonna order a Kindle Fire for Christmas so I can play Angry Birds Star Wars!
Me: You don't order things for Christmas.  You can write a letter to Santa and ask for things.
C: I'm gonna order lots of things!  A Kindle Fire... a Dream Lite... Angry Birds pillows and some art supplies! So, can you write those things down for me?
Me: I'm not the one writing to Santa. Santa doesn't come for me.  I'm too old.
C: I'll ask for things for you!  I'll ask him for a paper heart since I can't find your other one.
Me: Oh thanks.

Me: Go get your book.
C: And then I need to rest.  My energy is very sore.

C: I loosened number one [chocolate advent calendar], so I can open it easier!

C: We have this discussion every night!  I can't sleep because there's too much noise!
(I'm sitting downstairs with nothing on but the light)

Colton on Eggnog

C: I didn't even know eggnog tasted like that! I hadn't even had eggnog before.

C: Do you like how yummy the eggnog is?

C: Next time we buy eggnog, remember to use it. And Mom? Next time, when it's Christmas, we can drink a lot of it.

Me: How was it?
C: Pretty good.
Me: Just pretty good?
C: I think it's all the way good.  In fact, it makes me want a whole can of it!

C: When you hear Dad open the door, will you please tell me? Because I want to give him a hug!

C: Can you give this to Dad from me? And I'm gonna sign it so he knows which me it's from.

C: We played guns all day today at Jordan's house!
Me: I don't want to hear about that. You know I don't like that.
C: Why?
Me: Because I don't like guns and killing, remember?
C: Well Mom, remember we're still young and are still learning.

The Great & Powerful Colton

C: Dutch Babies are my second favorite food!
Dad: What is your favorite food?
C: I like BOTH mac & cheese!
/facepalm
New bed/desk! The art supplies were in danger from little fingers,
so we moved them upstairs to C's new desk.
C: Do you know what I would like for my birthday?
Me: What?
C: Powers!
Me: Powers? Like what?
C: Like XCOM powers.
Me: I think somebody's been playing too much Xbox.
C: Or word ball. Or flying powers!

Sign on C's bed
C: Dad, while you were sleeping, I recognized that it was 8 o’clock, so I did an art project to stay busy.

Hockey night! Tips win!

The Quicker-Picker-Upper

Me: I don't need any help right now.
C: Why?
Me: I think you might slow me down.
C: No, I will quick you up!

SJHA Team White!
C: I'm turning into a real pirate!
C went to a pirate birthday party this afternoon and got some fake gold.  He's convinced he's a pirate now.

#14 in the house!
Me: Aren't you happy that your room is so clean?
C: NO!
Me: Why not?  That means we can move your desk in.
C: That's the only reason I am happy.

Colton & Bridger
C: Every time I read a book, you need to give me a dollar.
Me: ... *laugh*
C: Because it's a reward.
Me: I'm not paying you to read.  I will give you a sticker if you can read the book to me, but that's about it.

Fashion Mogul

C: This is my Obama shirt and shorts. Because
I'm going to be Obama when I grow up.
C: Mom? Did you wash my clothes over time?
Me: Yes, I washed your clothes last night.

Coloring in the states on election night.
C: This keyboard is buggishes me!

The tongue helps.
Look Ma, no life-jacket!!

Colton Paints a Picture

Dad: And do you know whose birthday is next?
C: Who?
Dad:  Granddad.
Me: And then Oma and then Dad.  Do you think Dad should have a skating party?
C: Yeah! And Dad?!  You can come!

Jordan & Colton on Halloween
C: Mom, you need to remember that I'm going to be president. I'm going to be the next Obama, so that we have another Obama.

C: I drew Dad and me holding hands and I made it cool
because I added grass, and a tree, and a butterfly!
C: Pretty soon we can get our Christmas tree!  And we have to be careful with those garlands near the top because they're sharp and metalish.

Standing in front of the van with his arms outstretched ~
C: I'm a tree!
Dad: Why are you a tree?
C: So a squirrel can climb on me!

C: Did you know that everyone has an invisible bucket? And when you say good things, it fills the bucket up?
Me: So if I said, "I love you, Colton," what would that do?
C: It fills up my bucket!
Me: And how do you fill up someone else's bucket?
C: I would give them a picture!

Happy Halloween!

Nanan: Your silly-willies are in first grade?
C: Yeah!  And when I'm in second grade, they'll be in third grade!  And when I'm in high school, they'll be in college!  Do you know why I sent my silly-willies to school?
Me: No, why?
C: Because they'd be bored with nothing to do!

C: Tomorrow it's just gonna be scattered-showers-pouring-rain.

I picked up a couple of foam crowns and Colton spent all day playing "kings."
C: My king is named King Super!

C: No, my king is really named King County!  And Jordan's queen is Queen County!

Kids got play money tonight while trick-or-treating ~
C: Mom? Is $1,000,000 bigger than $2,000?
Me: Yes.
C: So, then I can buy my own computer!
Me: Sorry, buddy, that was play money.
C: But how come it won't work?
Me: It's not real.  Sorry.

Colton's Race!

1k Kids Dash ~ over 200 kids registered today
So proud of my boy!
He is so excited to run another race soon!
Me: It feels like a Sunday today. [Thursday]
C: Why?
Me: Because I'm here.
C: I know why you're here.
Me: Why?
C: Because you're on vacation!

7:30am, a half hour before C usually wakes ~
Me: Time to get up, buddy!
C: I'm too sleepy.
Me: You have a race this morning.
C: And see? I'm all ready to go!
He took off his jammies and put on gym clothes after I put him to bed last night.  LOL!

C: I am going to wear my sunglasses because my eyes are sleepy.

Halloween with the Lights On @ the Children's Museum
C: If I wear my skeleton jacket and my sunglasses, I can go as a spy!

C: You and me should take a nap later, because it's so early.

C: There are no cars out on the road because we're out so early!
Me: It's not that early anymore.  (8am)

C: When I grow up, can I be President Obama?

Colton on Weddings

Me: Do you have your listening ears on today?
C: Yep, they're plugged into my head!
Me: And will you leave your silly-willies in the car with me?
C:  They're just in my head too.

Me: Did you have a good day?
C: Yeah!
Me: Did you wear your listening ears?
C: Yeah!
Me: And how about your silly-willies?  Did you leave them in the car with me?
C: No, they were at school.
Me: You were supposed to leave them with me!
C: They're just in first grade!  Not in my class!

Me: Did you have a good time at Uncle Jake's wedding?
C: Yeah!  Mostly because your dress was so pretty.
Me: Aww, thanks buddy!

C: You can't wear camo pants to the wedding!
Me: What about a camo dress?
C: No!
Dad: Yeah, Mom's gonna wear a dress today.
C: Me too!

C: I'm gonna be an author just like my dad!
This is Super Caillou battling against the rain cloud.
C: I like your dress, Dad!

C: Do you know why I like Thomas?
Me: Why?
C: Because he has a nice smile!

C: I'm starting to like trains again!

Picture of me!  Fancy shirt, skirt & all
Me: Tonight we're going to the rehearsal dinner.  Rehearsal means to practice.
C: Why do they have to practice getting married?

C: Mom, are you married?
Me: Hmm.  I'm not sure who that guy is that lives with us.
C: Dad!
Me: Is Dad married?
C: Yes.
Me: To Cartman?
C: NO!
Me: To Shrek?
C: Yes!
LOL!

The Great Pumpkin

Grand opening for Colton's shelter
C: What'd we get in the mail today?
Me: Bills.
C: But we're not gonna give the mailman any more money!

C: Aren't I a good artist?
Me: Very!
C: Good enough to be a mailman?
C has gone through an entire sketchpad recently making us letters and putting them in the mailbox.

C: When we get home, please don't make me go outside. I'm too hot.

Birthday card for the babies.  He wrote out the entire Happy Birthday song for them.

C completed another round of swim lessons on Sunday. He just needs to master a few more skills before moving to level 3! He is pictured below learning the back stroke. He has to be able to do the back stroke and front crawl for 10' to move on.

Let's play HOCKEY!  Skills drills 10/20.  Colton is in gold.
