Colton on Sleep

C: I am dipping my sandwich!
Dad: Hmm, I wonder who gave you that idea.
C: I do!
Dad: Mommy should be saying "It was me!"
Me: It was me!

Children's Museum - 9/29
Me: Here's a Thomas shirt, so we can get you dressed!
C: But I already have a Thomas shirt on (jammies) and I don't have to take it off because I very love it!

C: No pictures, Mom!
Me: Are you sleepy?
C: No, my eyes are open!

Children's Library
C: I am going to go outside because it's a nice day to go outside and visit.
Me: It is a very nice day & that sounds like a great idea!
C: Yeah, the fog, rain, and dark all ran away and found a nice place to sleep.  I am going to give them very special loves and blankies.

Aww :)

Colton Is Happy Enough

Dad: Do you want a hug?
C: No, I’m happy enough.

Children's Museum - 9/25
C: I want a yellow slurpee!
Me: Sorry, buddy.  Somebody broke Mama's window and took her purse, so I don't have any money.
C: But there is some in the piggies! (banks)
Me: Do you have your piggy with you?
C: No, but we could go home and then we will have it.
Me: Next time, buddy.  But thank you for being such a nice boy and offering to share.

Pop-si-cicle face - 9/25
C: What are you watching?  Is it Thomas or hockey?

Colton Goes to the Museum

Action shot jumping up onto the purple step
C: I am going to have mac & cheese, and fries!
Me: Ewwww!
C: *giggle*
Me: You can have mac & stinky feet!
C: But that will make me sick!

On his way to the yellow step :)
I walked upstairs to put away the dishes and came back to ~

He had crawled up into the Papasan chair and zonked out.  It was only 7pm, but we were so busy, we didn't have time to even attempt a nap.  Love the PBJ all over his face.

Colton Goes to Hockey!

Dad: Is that a belly there?
C: I’m almost not going to have a belly!
Dad: But what if I want to get your belly?
C: I don’t have a belly!
Dad: What happened?
C: It ran away, right into that big tree! Daddy, can you go get my belly back from the tree?

C: Daddy, I want to go to school because I am 5!

At the local burger joint (not McD's!) for some pre-hockey game grub, Colton goes running up to the counter and says:
C: I want a number 1!

C: I want to go back to hockey in the morning!

Happy boys!  Tips won 4-3 :)

Colton Is Tricky

Me: Colton, come here so I can wash your hands!
Me: Colton? 1….2….
C: (from bathroom) 1-2-3 over here!
Me: No, when I say 1-2-3, you come to me!
C: But I said 1-2-3 over here!
Me: That’s not the point.
C: But I changed the points!
Me: Ugh.
C: I am tricky!

C: Mom, I need a drink!
Me: Wait til I come up and check on you.  9 minutes!
C: But Mom, I need to go potty!
Me: You'll have to wait. 9 minutes.
C: I have to go potty.  Sorry!
Me: Wait.
9 minutes later, I take up the water.
C: That feels me much better!
And someone didn't ask to get up to potty... LOL

Colton Goes to the Dog Park

Took the pupperdoodles to the park today and then lunched at Anthony's Beach Cafe.  They have a great sand pit out back.

~ * ~

C: Cartman is my favorite!

~ * ~

C: I want to go see the boats!
Me: We need to get you a life jacket before we go out on the dock.
C: Nanan, I need my jacket so I can go out on the dock!
Not quite the jacket I was thinking of, Colton!

~ * ~

To one of the kids playing in the sand pit:
C: Don't throw sand at me, because I'm too busy!

~ * ~

On the way home ~
C: Mom, I need a cookie because I didn't get to taste one today.

Colton Buys Edward

C: Edward was doing hard work because he doesn't like being done with hard work!

Colton bought a new train (Edward) today with his
piggy bank money ~ Colton is reading his name here.
C: He guttered and guttered and what a big gutter he started and he guttered some more!
Guttering or juttering are the sounds that trains make, according to the small one.

C: Why is the TV off?
Me: Because we don't need it on all the time.
C: But I want it on because I want to hear something!

LOL!

C: I have a nuffy nose!
(Extra cute when stuffed up)

Boys (yelling): Moooom! Mom! Mom!
Jordan: She's right there!
C: We have a full, full house!
Me: Yep, there are lots of people here tonight.
C: They need to leave because the house is so heavy that I can't move it.

C: T-D!
No idea why he yells this, but he
does when getting his picture taken.
While running around the kitchen ~
C: I want to stay down here and be very runny!

Scrape Daddy off the Floor

C: Let's go to the museum!
Me: We have to drive there; it's a little far.
C: But you can go slow!  Because I might see a speed-lemon sign and you need to go the speed-lemon.

Worm friend courtesy of Jennings Park after our run
C: We're going to have to scrape the daddy off the floor!
(Just randomly came up and said that... Though Daddy said it was true after the day he had)

Promised the kiddo play-time at the toys
for being such a good boy through our run!
C: Mom, can you carry me?  I'm too hot to walk.
(Just woke up and not really speaking coherently)

Colton Stays Home

C: In hockey, they were fighting,
and had to go in the box.
Thus, he put himself in the box
C: It's raining on America!
 His drawing is of America.
Colton helped us do yard work, but didn't like the noise
from the chainsaw, so would cover his ears like ^
Me: The Mama-engine is tired.
C: NO! You need to go exercise before you can be tired!

Sigh.

Mamarazzi

C: I'm going to try, but I'm not, because I'm going to try, but I'm not, because I'm going to try.
Got all that?

C: It's only ooh-ooh, because there's no more eee-eee!
(while holding up a stuffed monkey)

Colton did not want the mamarazzi this morning

C: What did you say, Mom? I mean Dad.
C is not the only Reuther boy that does this, as I understand :)

C: Mom, you can only have one coffee or it will hurt your tummy.
Mom begs to differ!!

C: I have to get down because I have jobs to do!
Translation: no more cuddling for you, I have trains to put together!

Colton on Sharing

C: I want more broccoli.
Me: We should save some for Dad.
C: I am going to eat it all!
Me: But then Dad will be sad.
C: But I will share!

C: This sign spells, "Museum's closed."
C: I need 5 ingredients to put in my juice for dessert!
Uhm... yum?

Me: I am going to make dinner.
C: Mom, I want peanut butter jelly roll-up, cereals, dip-dip, fries, and PEARS!
Hungry much?
C: I'm gonna go sleep in the mar-a-bles.

Weekend Words of Wisdom

C: We have a very full house!  We have friends, and potties, and bathtubs, and toilet paper, and a kitty.
(Getting ready for bed... hence the potty mouth :)

Me: We need to make you a dentist appointment soon.
C: But Mom, it's too spicy!

C: Mom, I'm winking a lot!
(Going upstairs and blinking a lot)

C: I'm just playing; I'm making a mess!
(Outside playing in the sandbox)

C: Uh-oh!  I boomed right there!
(Driving his truck into the wall)

C: I'm separating this on my nose!
(*Balancing* the ball on his nose :)

C: Well, Oma, I'm done talking to you.
(While on the phone with Oma!  Rude child)

One Uponce a Time...

C: One uponce a time, Thomas was going to do very hard work and ...

Coming back from the park
On the way to the Spaghetti Factory (carbo-loading location of choice!)
C: And there will be a dancer place at the Spaghetti Factory! And it is a long, long way away in Kirkland.

Hmm. I'm not sure I want to go to *that* Spaghetti Factory!

Monkey isn't big on getting his
picture taken anymore.  Sad.
At the gas station...
C: Mom, you're incredible!
Me: Aww, thanks buddy!
C: Want a flower?

What a nice boy ;)

~ * ~

And being tucked in...
Me: We'll find your book, be patient.
C: But I'm not patient. And Mom, sometimes guys don't have to be patient.

I see.

Colton on Home Improvement

Me: I really like what they've done with that place [pointing to the house on the corner].  They've put up that nice wall and laid down some seed.
C: Yeah, and it looks really damaged!

Colton on Dinner

Me: Do you want fruit or vegetables with dinner?
C: I want vegetables on a stick!
... because everything's better on a stick!

C: I am all done with dinner.
Me: Okay.  You didn't eat much steak.
C: But I ate my asparagus!
Me: Yes, you did. Thanks!
C: Welcome!

Me: Can I give Shrek the rest of your dinner?
C: NO!  (comes running)  Let me see here, what I can do.

C: Look at the healthy ones I got!  (holding up a bag of marbles)
Me: I see they're very healthy.
C: And I am going to put them in the closet so you won't see them anymore.
Me: Okay.
C: Let me see here... what I can do.  (love this new expression!)

Me: What did you get on your shirt?
C: Macaroni and cheese, burrito, steak, & asparagus!

On our walk...
C: It was driving Nanan nuts because it was funny nuts!
(not sure what exactly 'it' was... but it made for a great quote)

Colton Watches Thomas

C: Which one [episode] is gonna come up next?
Me: I don't know.
C: Let me look at the ground. [Colton looks at the ground, then back up at the TV.]
C: Look, it's this one!

I didn't know the TV guide was on the floor.

~ * ~

Me: Let's go up for dinner!
C: NO, I WANT TO STAY DOWN HERE AND PLAY ALL DAY AND WATCH THOMAS!

Don't we do that every day?

~ * ~

C: Dad, I'm fixing Mommy's footies. And it needs one more, so Mom, you need to lift your footie.

Colton Watches Hockey

C: I'm so excited to watch hockey!
Dad & the monkey
Colton really got into the game
The team Dr stopped us on the way
up the stairs and gave C a game puck!

On the way to the rink ~
C: Look both ways to cross the street!
Me: We have to wait for the walking signal.
C: Hi, walking guy!

Colton Goes to the Zoo

Click here to scroll through pictures
C: Mom, I smell poop!

And...

C: Mom, I want to live here.

Thomas went with us and was driven everywhere from the Rain Forest to the pathways between exhibits.  I eventually had to stash him in my "pack-back" as he became a little too distracting. Colton had a fun time!  We picked up a stuffed tamarin (which he is calling "your Cameron," when he can remember what his monkey is called).
