Me: What are you checking in my book?
C: I'm checking where we are going hiking!
Me: Ooooh, fun!

Colton Does SNOW!

        Going sleddin' 12/29
To Renae (his first crush...sigh!) ~
C: Next time, when you make snow fall from the sky, we can play again!

In a sad, little voice ~
C: Renae, when you are gone, I will miss you.

Colton is in the bathtub getting 'swimming suits' (wash cloths) and all his bath toys ready to go to Granddad's. We told him we could go hot tubbing next time we visited, so I guess he's packing!

     Renae, C & Craig

He has made me a swimming suit (a blue towel) and he gets the green one.
C: The blue one is nice and warm for you!  And the green one is nice and warm for me! But I didn't find a swimming suit for Granddad.
Me: I'm sure he has a suit, but it was very nice of you to think of him.

C: Why are you not talking?
Me: I'm thinking.
C: You have to stop thinking and try on your swimming suit!  This one will fit you because it's too big for me!

Of course he had to go down
the slide in the snow!
C: Do you want to try this suit out now? Yes or no?!

C: Mom, do you have a cold?
Me: Yeah.
C: A drink will make you feel better! It will take your fever away.
I like the way he's thinking ;)

C: I see a buggy! And when I am a buggy, I will stung you on the nose!

          C finds a friend ;)
Me: It's time to go, buddy!
C: No, I don't want to go!  I want to stay here!
Me: Okay, well, I'm going home and playing with all your toys!
C: NO!!  I will go home and take them all away! And then I will be right back!!
Me: Then I will be sad.
C: Well, you can have my jams! (jammies)
Me: Oh, thanks.  I want some Elmo jams!
C: No, Thomas!

Colton Plays Memory

Xmas prezzie from Sarah & Jor
Me: Why are your pants on backwards?
C: This is the way they fit!

C set up a game of Memory while I was finishing my dinner.  He picked out 5 matches, lined them up, and got it ready for us to play.  Somehow there ended up being 11 cards on the floor, but otherwise the pieces all matched!  After our first game, he went to reset the game, but then totally cheated because he remembered where he put the pieces... thus winning that next game :)

I'm Home; You're Home.

12/25... His expression makes me laugh :)
C: Hey Mom?  You're home!  And I am home with you!

C: And we'll be super-dooper hard workers!  And I can do hard work!

Me: It's not Christmas-time anymore, so we will need to put the tree away soon.
C: And if you take down the tree, I will jump on the box and take it back out!

C: Hey Dad, are you out of coughs yet?  I think I can climb on you now.  Hey Dad, can you climb me up?

He & Riley played, and played, and played some more.  So cute!

Me: Shall we pick out some cookies for Santa?
C: He can have an orange.
Me: No cookies for Santa?
C: No.

Later ~
Me: Do you think Santa will eat his orange?
C: No.
Me: Just his cookie?
C: Yeah.
(Waaaay past kiddo's bedtime at this point, so he wasn't very chatty)

All snugged in his bed ~
C: Mom, I'm really happy.
Me: Me too, night buddy!

Colton absolutely fell in love with Uncle Jon's train room tonight.  Seriously, who wouldn't?!  He was running 4 electric trains and they both kept sneaking back there to play!

      Uncle Jon sent home this

Me: Oh. What do you use to make a flying carpet?
C: Boards... and blankies...
Me: Good to know.

Me: Do you see the letter Q?
C: Why do you keep asking?!

C: Why aren't we home yet?
Me: We're home! We live here now. In the middle of the street.
C: No, we don't! First we have to go up around the corner!
Me: Yep.

Me: Can you make me something from Bob's Burgers? (C has designated his easel as Bob's Burgers)
C: No, it's gonna be closed!

C: Moooooooom?
Me: Yeah, buddy?
C: Tonight, I am not feeling well.

C: Are we at Oma & Opa's yet?
Me: Yep! (on the freeway)
C: No we're not! But when we get to Oma & Opa's, will there be a parking spot just for us?
Me: I'm sure there will be.
C: Are we at Oma & Opa's yet? (10 mins later...still on the freeway)
Me: Yep!  Where's our parking spot?
C: No, we're not!  There's no parking spot here!
Dad: When this number gets to the 3, then we will be there.
C: Oh, but when I count to 3,  we will be there!

 Watching Sid the Science Kid
C: You can't dance because it will hurt my ears!

Colton on Cookie Trains

C: Look at the broken moon!
Me: Why is it broken?
C: Because the stars took it away and broke it!

C: *yawns*
Me: Sleepy, buddy?
C: No, when I yawn, it means I'm thirsty.

Me: Hey buddy, do you want to help me wrap Nanan's presents?
C: When we go downstairs, I will open them!

Looking at the gingerbread train ~
C: But the track is hard to chew, so we only eat the cookie.

C: Hey Mom, do you know what I build today?
Me: What did you build?
C: I don't know, you'll have to look when I take off this stuff!

C: Why do I have to go to sleep every day and every night?

C: Mom, can I play with the gingerbread train?
Me: We'll put it together on Wednesday at Granddad's.
C: Oh, but it is Wednesday!

C: Mom, I'm working on Cartman.  With three tools.  And they're kinda sharp!
He has a wrench, screwdriver, and hammer. Cartman should be worried.

Me: Careful that you don't knock over Mommy's coffee!
C: I'll just go the speed limit!

Me: I'm gonna go up and take a shower now.
C: Don't forget to look for super letters!

C: No, it's just gonna be bumpy!

C: Look Mom, the sun is coming out so now you can be happy!  I am happy!
Me: Yay! I am glad you are happy.  I am happy too!
C: But Bridger is sad.
Me: Why is he sad?
C: Because he works too much.

C: Don't take the freeway! I don't like the freeway!
Me: Can we take the interstate?
C: Yeah!
Me: Why don't you like the freeway?
C: Because there's lots of strange noises!

C: Can I have my cheese stick?
Me: Sorry, buddy, you didn't want it so I ate it.
C: Well, you can eat me and I will go down into your tummy and take it back!

Down by the UW ~
Me: Mama used to go to school over there.
C: Yeah, and I will show you how to play football!  First you get the ball and then you kick it!

C: Mom, don't dance when there's hot smoke!
Good advice!

Colton shakes a bag ~
C: Do you hear that noise? It sounds like dirt!

C: This house is getting old.  Why do houses get old?
Me: They get older like we get older.
C: I will take down the roof if we're not using it.
Me: We're still using it, buddy.

C: I made golden eggs for you!  But I forgot to crack them.
