Colton Gets Slimey!

Slime from Halloween at the children's museum
Dad: You're probably going to need a bath before trick-or-treating tonight.
C: Why?
Dad: Because you have slime in your hair.
C: But everyone will love that!
Dad: Then you won't be Spider-Man, you'd be Slimey-Man.
C: But I like being slimey!

C: Why do I always have to take a bath when I get all slimey?

C: Let's show Oma & Opa my goal dance!

Halloween with the Lights On

The Imagine Children's Museum had their Halloween with the Lights On event today.  The kids get to dress up and the museum has fun things for them to do.

Disappearing ghost poop
C: Dad, we're just going to Opa's house for a quick visit!  Just one minute!
Never mind that Opa's house is 3 hrs away...

Curtains are fun!  Tho not an official exhibit.
C: I only like green slime! This yellow slime is just hurting my feelings!
Mom fail.  I picked out the yellow slime instead of the green stuff. Of course, it wasn't an issue til we were on our way home...

Colton makes a Frankenstein...but didn't want a picture
taken with it.
C: Dad, when Mom had one baby in her tummy, and I had one baby in my tummy, and you had one baby....
Dad: Uh, I don't want to have a baby!

Happy Saturday

Colton & D
C: I don't like hockey anymore!  I'll just put up a closed sign!
(We had a rough morning, but practice went great!)

Me: What are you going to learn in hockey today?
C: I'm gonna do a backwards superman slide! And I'll be the skater backwarder!

C: I won!  See I got to my house! (Using the maps app on my iPod)

C: See Mom, I know how to spell now.  (Trying to play Words with Friends ~ hopefully he won't resign any more of my games!)

Colton in the Morning

C: I'm gonna use the sunglasses to see bigger things! (magnifying glass)

Me: Morning, buddy.  Did you have a good sleep?
C: No, I didn't really get very much sleep last night.  Only snoring makes me get more energy.

Me: Morning, buddy.  Did you have a good sleep?
C: Not really.  That heater bothers my sleep.
The heater that I *just* turned on when I went in the room to wake him up bothered him.

C: Why?
Dad: Chicken thigh.
C: Why did you say that?
Dad: I was being silly.  Was that silly?
C: No, because it hurts my feelings.
Dad: Saying chicken thigh hurts your feelings?
C: Yeah, but it doesn't any more.

Countdown to Halloween!

C: Do you think I can learn to be a real Spider-Man some day?

Kissing the mouth piece of the pumpkin
Me (talking to the kitty): You already ate!
Dad: We'll have to eat the kitty.
C: But then you'll get too much fur in your mouth.

The tongue definitely helps when carving
C: Why do babies like to look at things?
Me: Why do you like to look at things?
C: I don't very much now.

My pumpkin on the left; Colton's on the right.

Colton and Tron

C: When I grow up, I want to drive a motorcycle!
Dad: I've never wanted to have a motorcycle.
C: Why?
Dad: Because people don't see you, and if someone hits you, you wouldn't survive.
C: Yeah, well, I will be real careful, and have perfect balance, with the training wheels off of my motorcycle!

C: I will wear a helmet just like Sam Flynn!  (Tron)

C: I don't have a motorcycle.
Me: Nope.
C: Or a helicopter.
Me: Nope.
I don't generally give little boys toys like that.

C: You have to read quieter when my Tron music is on!

Colton went to go see Harold and the Purple Crayon at the Children's Theatre with Nanan ~
Me: The actors wear costumes up on the stage.
C: Yeah, and I want to wear my costume!
Jamie: You might scare the other kids there.

Colton on Being Gentle

Watching for his friend with his "telescope"
C: I like being a fireman!
Me: Do you drive the fire truck?
C: No, because I don't know how to drive. If there's a fire, you can drive, and I'll put on the sirens!

C: Can you run fast?
Me: I can't run right now, remember? I have an owie on my tummy.
C: Could you run fast if they were gentler when they took the babies out?
LOL! I'm not sure they can make a c-section any more gentle!

Me: No guns.
C: I'm just pretending that I'm a Transformer.
Me: That's fine, but no guns. I don't like guns.
C: But Transformers have guns!
Duh, Mom.

Colton, My Keeper

Wall-hanging turned costume
Me: Don't pull on the kitty that way; he's an old kitty.
C: Will he last forever?
Me: No, buddy, nothing lasts forever.

C: I want the kitty to give me a high-five, but he isn't listening to me!

C: I very missed you.  I hadn't seen you before.
Really? Never ever?

C: I'm huuuuungry!
Me: Why don't you finish your roll?
C: I'm not hungry enough for that! Just for a bite of pie!

C: Mom, I'm gonna keep you.
Dad: Good, I think we'll keep her too.
Whew!

C: I really want to go to work with you!
Me: I'm off for a few weeks, buddy.
C: Why?
Me: To take care of you and the babies.
C: But what if I get into trouble?

Me: Can you lift this baby chair or is it too heavy?
C: I am strong because I eat so many vegetables!

C: I'm here to to take care of the babies so you can just do what you're supposed to.
Me: Yeah, and what am I supposed to be doing?
C: You can just listen to Dad and whenever the babies cry, you fix their problems!

Me: Could you close the door for me?
C: So the babies don't escape?
Me: So the kitty doesn't escape.

Colton on the Babies

His sticker says he's organic
C: But Granddad said this was the last time I got to see my baby brothers!
Me: He meant at the hospital, buddy.  They're coming home with us and you can see them any time.

C: I want to hold the baby!  But not that baby!

C: We didn't watch the Tron I like. We watched the other Tron I like!

Me: What did Dad make for dinner?
C: Something to make you big & strong!

On feeding the babies ~
C: Is that where your chocolate milk comes from?
Me: It's not chocolate.
C: Why?
Me: Cuz I don't make chocolate.

After a bath ~
C: I'm all clean and sparkly!  Sparkly than the babies!

Colton Meets the Babies

C: I'm gonna skate even faster because I got a hockey magazine!

En route to the hospital ~
C: Mom! I forgot to give you a kiss!
Me: It's okay, buddy, you can give me one when we get there.

C: I want to play the throwing birds game!
Grandma's iPad was a huge hit!

C: That is my middle-of-the-night Thomas!

C: Why do our babies just have to sleep and eat?
Me: Because that's all they do, pretty much, buddy.

C: Our babies don't have any teeth!

C: Mom, can you run now?
Uhm, ouch?

C: I want to stay and watch the babies!

He has been having a great time pushing around their beds, and the photographer was a big hit.  He helped her build little nests and we got pictures of the boys all together.  So cute!!  C's pretty anxious for us to be home, which should be tomorrow.  C's been staying with Granddad and Grandma and then had a bonus visit from Oma & Opa since they were in town.

Yay, it did arrive! (shirt says Big Brother Squared)
Holding babies with Oma, Opa, & Dad

Oh Where, Oh Where is Colton?

C helped me put together the cosleeper yesterday ~
C: If we have to go to Phoenix, where will the babies sleep?
Me: If we *have* to go, we can take their bed with us.

Me: Where are you?
C: (muffled) In here!
Me: Are you in the dryer again?
C:  (muffled) Yeah.
Disclaimer: I sent him to get something to wear out of the dryer and was listening for shenanigans.

C: Mom, maybe you could try and make Dutch Babies.
Me: That's not my thing, bud.  You'll have to ask Dad.

Showing me one of his toys ~
C: Isn't it a thing of beauty!
Me: A thing of beauty?  Where did you learn that?
C: One of my shows!

Colton's Good Ideas

Me: But I would miss you if you were gone for more than one night.
C: You can just stay home, and watch the house, and Dad can watch you! Is that a good idea?
Poor Dad's on Mama babysitting duty again.

C: When I breathe out, my food goes in my back. Look at how big my back is! That means I ate a lot of food!

I was going through the closet trying to find something to wear to the wedding tomorrow ~
C: Are you gonna be a ballet-er?  I like your polka dots!

C: You are so sweet!
Me: I am, huh?
C: Yeah, I love you very much!
Me: Aww, thanks buddy.  Love you too!

C: I could see! I turned on my headlights just before I reached the dark!

Colton Has a Day

C: This pepper tastes bitter.  It's just like the other kind of peppers I like!

Me: Sorry, what did you say?  I didn't hear you.
C: I was just talking by myself. Is that all right?
Me: Sure, buddy.

C: I DON'T WANT YOU ANY MORE!
YOU'RE JUST BOTHERING ME!
I'M NOT HAPPY AT YOU!
We had a rough night.

C: I will see our babies in the morning when I wake up!
Does he know something I don't?

Colton Has a Problem

Me: What do you think will be in our fruit box today?
C: Big and strong vegetables!
Me: What veggies are big and strong?
C: Broccoli and carrots!
Me: What else?
C: I already said some. Now you!
Me: Apples.
C: Apples aren't vegetables!
Me: I know, but I think there will be apples in our fruit box.

C: Why did your hair explode?
Me: Because it's raining out; give me a break!

C: What if we had to go far away, and leave the Earth, to go camping?
Me: Well, we can't go camping til it gets nicer out.
C: That's what I mean.  What if we had to drive and walk all the way to Saturn?
Me: That would be pretty far away, wouldn't it?
C: Yeah, and I'd get pretty tired and have to sit all night.

Me: You tired, buddy?
C: Yeah.  I'm just like a dead end.

Me: What's the problem?
C: I just said it!
Me: I didn't hear you, so tell me again!
C: I got stuck behind my bunk bed.
Roffle ~ He had indeed gotten stuck... he climbed over the back of the bunk and got stuck half way between the top and bottom bunks against the wall.  Had to push the bed out to get him out.

Colton Fixes Grumpy

Me: And next week we get to bring your little brothers home!
C: But Mom, we need to take Dad's van!  And the baby seats aren't in there!
Me: It's okay, buddy, we still have some time.

C: Is this pretty funny, Mom?
Me: Not really.
C: Why?
Me: Because I'm grumpy.
C: I will give you kisses! And then will you be grumpy?
Me: Nope, then I'll be all better.

C: Will you be there in the morning?
Me: No, I have some appointments in the morning, but I'll be back by lunch time.
C: I will be sad.
Me: Why will you be sad?
C: I will miss you!
Me: Sorry, buddy.  I will miss you too, but I promise I'll be back in time to have some lunch with you & Nanan.

Colton Picks a Pumpkin

Corn Maze
Playing in the corn pit ~ C kept stopping to dump out his boots after this.
Bounce house!
Duck races!
C: I wanna try that!
Barrel train ride
Face-painting
Wagon ride grimace?
Pumpkin Cannon!

Colton pulled those bad boys all the way to the car!
We'll carve them a little closer to Halloween, but I wanted to go
to the patch, and this was the only open weekend!
C: That's the whole Earth, right?
Me: No, that's Firefox.
Hahaha!
9 days before little brothers' arrival!

Colton Makes Cookies

C: This hockey practice keeps making me tired!

Good practice today!  It was the start of a new session, so it was free skate for most of the first half.  C did a ton of skating, but then got tired during the second half and kept wanting to come off the ice every time he passed the door.  And twice brought me some stuff from the ice (a "doh" and a piece of plastic).  I had to let him know he wasn't responsible for cleaning the ice.   Dohs=what he started calling dog fur tumbleweeds as a babe.  LOL

C: I will check the cookies and tell you when they're nummy!
We made Opa's famous peanut butter & chocolate chip cookies.

C: You have to do everything you can do because you can!
Sage advice.

C: Why is this your house?
Me: Because Dad & I bought it.
C: What if I buyed it?
Me: Then you could live here too.
C: I will!  And then you can live with me! Is that nice of me?
Me: Yes, very nice.

C: Do we have two high chairs?
Me: We'll get another one.
C: Can the babies fit in one?
Me: Nope, we'll need another chair eventually.
C: We could just hold one baby on our lap.
Me: Then how would you eat?
C: I would just give the baby to you.
I see.
