Last Stop Before Home!

Back in Richland, WA ~

Me: Hey, buddy!  What did you do today?
C: Welp, it was a pretty fun day!

Me: Colton? Do you not want to talk?
C: No.
Me: Okay, then.  Good night.
C: I do!
Me: Then stop spinning the laptop and talk to us.

Opa: We're making you a toasted cheese sandwich.
C: And remember, make it without the crusts!
Dad: What do you say?
C: What?
Dad: How do you say it politely?
C: Opa? Just make it with no crust...  Please?

C: I've been drinking lots of chocolate milk!
Me: Am I going to recognize you when I see you?  You're gonna get so big!
C: I don't know.

Me: Did you watch a movie today?
C: Yeah! I watched Tron and Henry and the Elephant. And I didn't watch Finding Nemo!  I just brought it just in case.

Me: Do you remember which baby is which?
C: Nope!

C: When I get home, I'm going to make 3 train sets!  And I'm going to put the straight pieces with the straight pieces, the curves with the curves, and the blocks with the blocks.  Will that be a good idea?

C: See you in a day!  Goodbye!

Colton on Yellowstone

Fireman hat with birthday crown

From Idaho Falls, ID  ~

Me: Hi, buddy! Hi, Mr. Picostco!
C: I just call him bunny now.
Me: Oh, okay. Hi, bunny.

C: Mom, we're just at our second hotel.  This is our last one.  We'll see you when I'm done with my trip!

Me: What did you see today?
C: I don't remember.
Me: Did you get to see Old Faithful?
C: I don't know.
Oma: Yes, you saw Old Faithful.
Me: Did you see some bison?
C: I don't remember.
Opa: Yeah, we probably saw a couple hundred bison.  Apparently the swivel chair is more fun than talking right now.

Me: What did you have for breakfast?
C: I don't remember.
Opa: Cherry yogurt with some granola. And some of Oma's biscuit, and a donut, and what else?
C: I don't remember.
Oma: A hashbrown!
Me: Yum! And what did you have for dinner?
C: McDONALD'S!
Opa: With chocolate milk.
C: And I got the same toy!
Me: With all that food will I recognize you the next time I see you?  Because you're going to grow so big.
C: Yesssss. Pssht. That's silly!
Opa: You'll recognize him by the chocolate milk still on his face.

C: And I watched a new movie!
They bought him a DVD on Yellowstone to reinforce memories of the trip.  He still remembers our trip to Phoenix over a year ago, so this is very cool!

Travelling to Richland today and home-home on Saturday!  Yay!!

Colton in South Dakota

From South Dakota ~
C: Maybe sometime my Boston can come to my house to play!

Me: What was your favorite thing today?
C: Playing Angry Birds!
Me: Oh good.  I was so worried you'd go completely without during your trip.
Opa: They discovered it on someone's phone, so got a few minutes to play.
C: And this game didn't have a board!

Dad: What city are you in?
C: We're just in our second hotel.
Dad: I know, but what city?
Opa: We're in Rapid City, South Dakota.

C: Welp, we'll see you after my trip, Mom!  Goodbye!

They are off to Mt Rushmore today!  How cool!   They may be back Thurs, or delay to Sat so they can break out the tent and actually go camping, instead of "camping in the hotel."  I'm so glad they're having such a good time!

C: Hi Mom, hi Nanan!  Oh Nanan, I forgot to give you my hugs and kisses.
Me: Aw, buddy, here let me send them to you.  [blows kiss]  Did you catch it?
C:  Hehehe, nooo!
Me: Here, try again.  Catch this one!

C: My Opa says tomorrow is my last day here and we're coming home in two days!
Opa: More like four, but he's got the right idea.

C: And tomorrow, Mom, I'm gonna give you a card! And I'm gonna make one for Nanan too!
Me: Thank you, buddy.  That is very sweet of you!
C: I have all the right ideas!

Me: What did you have for dinner?
C: We got to make little pizzas!  And I tried some of the cheese and the pepperoni when it wasn't cooked and I liked it!
Nanan: So when you get home, you're going to be a pro at cooking us pizza?
C: Yeah!  And I'll make it so it will always been nice and fresh!
Me: What if we eat it all when it's nice and fresh?
C: You can only have one little slice.
Me: How come?
C: Or there won't be enough for Dad.  They are little pizzas.

Me: We love and miss you buddy!  Can't wait til you get home!

Colton Goes on a Trip

"The Great Wall" (blocks under train track)
Nanan: I need to leave right when you get back from preschool.
C: No, you have to stay while my mom goes running! (so he can play on the iPod while I am away)

Me: 5 minutes!
C: You and Sarah have to finish your talking.
Me: Ok, we will.
...
Me: Time to go. For real this time.
C: Did you finish all of your talking?
Me: For now.

Me: I don't think I've been to Minnesota before.
C: You could come with me!
Me: Somebody has to stay here and take care of the babies.
C: Dad can!
Me: No, he has to work. You get to go and have a fun time!
C: But then I won't get to bring anyone I love.
Me: You can still love us, even when we're not with you.

C: Guess what, Mom?! You don't have to go running! You can stay and have breakfast with us!
Me: Guess what, Colton! I already went running and am back in time for breakfast.

Me: Give Dad 15 hugs and kisses for the days you'll be away.
Dad & Colton exchange 15 hugs & kisses ~
C: You have to kiss my Zhu Zhu Pet too!

C: I'm glad I will miss 5 days of preschool!
Me: But they will miss you at preschool.  What are you excited about?
C: That they will know I am gone!

C: Can I take my Zhu Zhu Pet?
Me: No, buddy.
C: But he is mine and he is very special to me.
Me: I know. But you can put him right here for when you get back.
C: And you will take care of him?
Me: Yes, I will take care of him.
C: He has some trouble working sometimes. Will you help him when he has trouble working?
Me: Sure.
C: And you’ll help him do his chores?

Colton on Television

On live television ~
C: This TV doesn't let me watch what I wanted to watch!

C: I don't have any strawberries in my belly!  And I don't even have any blueberries either.

C: My dad says I have to buy my own Dream Light. How many dollars does it cost?
Me: I have no idea what a Dream Light is, so I don't know.
C: Oh. It makes glorious stars and also anything that can show up. And I want the brown dog because it shows stars and a rocket ship!  So when the lights go out, the Dream Light goes on. I saw that on TV, on Sprout.  Maybe we can even buy two.  One for me, and one for Jordan!
Uhm, okay...

Me: Hi, buddy!
C: We're not coming with you!
Me: I know.  I wanted to come say hi.
C: Oh. Hi, Mom.

Sarah: No jumping off the top bunk!  That means no feet up here.
C: You can go on your walk now.

C: Mom, when can we buy a helicopter?
Me: Uhmmm... you can buy a helicopter with your own money.
C: But that would be too many monies!
