Colton Wants It to Snow!

Colton helps with this week's update!

C: When water goes up in the sky, it becomes snow!

We got the barest of dustings ~
C: Where is my snow suit?! I need it to go out and build a snowman! 

C: When can Jordan come over?
Me: This afternoon.
C: I can't wait that long!
Me: You only have to wait until after lunch.
C: I'm hungry! I need something to eat! I want lunch right now!
Me: You're not hungry.  It's only 10:30am.

C: I took a picture of my muffin!

C: When will my Nanan be here?
Me: 6.
C: I can't wait that long!

C: Look at it now!  It's making a Christmas tree!

C: I don't want it to snow and rain!  I just want it to snow!

C: When is it going to snow again?
Me: I don't know. I'm not in charge of the weather.

C: When are we going to Sarah & Jordan's? 
Me: Not today.
C: Why?
Me: Because I'm tired.
C: Quit getting tired!

He got his wish! Started coming down at a pretty decent clip
at 3pm.  A half hour later, we had 2" in spots.

Colton in the Kitchen

He put his full name on the fridge

C: Can I lick my fingers?
Me: Sure, I guess.  It (Crisco) doesn't really taste like anything.
C: It tastes like milk!

We're making Blueberry Zucchini Bread ~ Er, we're making it into muffins and using a cake pan for the other half.

Me: Did you like your muffin?
C: Yeah!  And when I'm done, I'm gonna want to try the cake!
Me: It's the same thing, silly.

C: These blueberries are just making my hands too cold!  Why did you have to freeze them for so long?

Playing car hockey... to which only he knows the rules ~
C: That was a good, nice shot!

C: Mom, you don't have my permission to my trains.
I assume he means to play with.  Sigh.

Colton Wants Chinese

C's school had their "trip to Asia" today, with Asian themed foods... so naturally, he wanted Chinese for dinner.

C: I want a dinner that's specialer than macaroni! 

C: I didn't want Dad to make pizza!  I wanted to make what I decided for dinner! 
Me: Dad already made dinner.  We'll go out for Chinese some other day.
C: Stop saying that!  BAD DAD!

C: We need a special recipe book--not for cookies! No, not for cookies!  For noodles!

C: We're gonna have rice, and California rolls, and peanut butter noodles, and noodle sauce (soy sauce).

Colton got some chopsticks, which he never bothered to separate when he ate, and he drank the soy sauce by itself.  Uh.. yum?

C: What's this thing next to me?
Me: It's a bassinet. It's where babies sleep.
C: We should put our babies in it!
Me: Well, it's only big enough to hold one baby.  So we're going to give it back to Nanan.
C: For when she has babies?

C: Jordan has a baby and it's not alive (doll).  And we both got to be his mommy!  He wasn't hungry until I was holding him and then he was! And I had lots of mama milk! I had more than you!

Train on the Brain

C: I found a screwdriver so I can flip Buzz's switch!
Me: No, buddy, I don't want you to take Buzz apart.
C: But I need to flip the switch so he can talk like that!
Me: He doesn't have a switch like in the movie that makes him speak Spanish.
C: No, I need to turn him down!
Me: He doesn't come with volume control, unfortunately.

C: When you're finished feeding the baby, my train will be done downloading!

C: The trains that just downloaded need a siding like the other trains!

It was requested that I get a picture of his bubble beard

C: Just 3 more pictures until you're done and you come up and play trains. This is the very last time I will come down here or I will put you in a spanking.
Demanding much?

C: Every day that you don't go to preschool, I will really miss you.
Me: I'm going today.
C: So I'm not gonna miss you! 

Me: Today in preschool, you're going to learn about Martin Luther King.  He was a very famous man who had a dream that all people would be treated the same, no matter what color their skin is...
C: Yeah, and I had a dream that I had a different kind of train track just like Eli & Kai!

Me: What was your favorite part of preschool?
C: Being with you.
Aww...

Colton Is Hungry

Dad: Are you a hungry boy tonight?
C: I'm hungier than the whole earth!

C: I want dinner with some milk and cereal on the side!

Me (to Dad): So Jordan and Colton want to be cousins.  Sarah told them they couldn't be because they weren't attached that way and Colton suggested that they use a rope.
C: No!  I said tape!

Me: Did you try the new cereal for breakfast?
C: Yeah, and that made me SO HAPPY!

C: I really missed you, Mom.
Aww...

C: I wish you could stay home every day.
Me: You do?  How come?
C: Because I really love you.
Me: You can still love me even if I go to work.
C: No, you need to be here for me to love you.

C: Why do you like to drink so much coffee?
Me: Because coffee makes the world go round.

C: Today I have a headdeck.  (headache)

C: What if I had mama milk? Then I could just feed one brother and you could feed one brother.

C: This puzzle has one in a hundred pieces!
Dad: It just has 100.
C: Is I right, Mom?
Me: Dad's right.  It has 100 pieces. 

C: When can we go to Eli & Kai's house?
Me: I don't know. Maybe sometime soon.  What made you think of that?
C: I thinked it myself!

C: I've never been there for a very long time! I've only been there once and I need to been there 4 times!

C: My back is hot so I think I should cuddle with you.

C: This plane can go wherever you want! It just runs on batteries.  I need a toy that runs on Legos.  Maybe double Cs. 

Park goer: Wow, you're really going fast!
C: Why are they teasing me?
Dad: She's not teasing you, she's giving you a compliment.

C: Why do you want to go for a run?
Me: I won't have time if I go later.  I'll see you in a little bit.
C: No, I get to make the decisions for your runs!

C: I took a picture of all 3 of you!

Me: Time for bed.
C: No thanks.
Me: It's not a choice, bud.  Time for bed.
C: I don't want to go!

C: I took a picture of that baby!

C: Why do you keep making the wrong decisions for me?
Me: Because I'm the mom and it's my job.

C: I took a picture of this baby's leg for you!

Colton Goes to School

Me: How was preschool?
C: Good.
Me: What was your favorite part?
C: I just played with Jasmine.  And Mom!  There were trains there!
It's clear where the focus is ;)

C: I have to take a picture, so you have to hold steady.

C: You can get your camera and I'll use mine to take pictures of the babies!

C: When I'm 11, I can take care of the babies!
Me: Sure.
C: But I don't have any mama milk.
Me: They won't need any by then.

Me: What'd you learn in school today?
C: We learned about pink again.
Me: And what was your favorite part?
C: Playing Play-Doh!
Me: Fun!

C: I only have a few more inches of popcorn!

Nanan: Do you like the babies?
C: Yeah, because they're not mean!

C: Nanan, whatever baby you're holding, you can just take care of.

C: Why can't I use too much paints in the bath?
Me: Then you'd run out.
C: But what if it was my last day of baths and first day of showers?

Colton Gets a Camera

We did Christmas at my mom's last night and she gave C a really cool gift, a Kid-Tough Digital Camera!

C: My Nana gave it to me and we were trying to give it to her!

C: It's not raining out because it's spring!
Me: Sorry buddy.  It's a new year, not a new season.

Colton Does New Year's

C: I like being the king!

C: Mom, it looks kinda early!
Me: What do you want for breakfast?
C: A chocolate mole.
Me: What's that?
C: It's what makes fruits and vegetables go bad.

C: Do we have milk and cereal?
Dad: No, I still haven't gone shopping.
C: Why did you want to forget?

C: Why do you keep saying that?

C: I'm painting the scenery. You're going to be amazed!
I've got to say, he made a decent sun with bath paints!

C: Wanna come look at my scenery? It's more better than the last time you looked!  It's more than the city.  The little things that I painted are the houses. But they still need steps.

C: I wish I could go running with you. So Jordan would go running too.  We would all just go running!
