Colton on Snow
Me: Desy says it popcorn snowed last night.
C: Can I have some? I just want some regular popcorn.
LOL!!
C: I wish you could bike with me.
Me: I need a bike, huh?
C: You can get a motorcycle!
Me: Mmm, no thanks. I don't think they are very safe.
C: But you wouldn't need any training wheels and you'd be way faster than me.
C: Mom, I really do want to fly.
Me too.
C: Mom, it's evening.
Me: Yep.
C: That means night in Spanish.
C: We made Tron music! All I could make was the motorcycle. That's all I remembered.
C: There were a lot of ambulances in Snohomish.
Me: How many?
C: A lot!

Mommy Fixes
C: This particular rock I got a few days ago.
C: Can you come fix this baby's problem?
C: Are you arms big enough to hold both babies?
Me: Yep.
C: Dad has too! But my arms aren't big enough yet.
C: I close the door on my hand and it really hurts!
Me: Do you need a kiss?
C: It's not really bleeding.
Me: Here, lemme kiss it.
C: You missed!
Me: Where was I supposed to kiss?
C: I don't know. It stopped hurting.
C: I got these markers a few days ago.
Me: I think you got them at the hospital when your babies were born.
C: When I came out of your tummy?
Me: No, when your babies did.
C: Well. Let's just not argue.
I've got that in writing now, buster.
C: Mom, can you make me grow bigger without sleeping?
Me: Sorry, buddy. No can do.
C: Can we just go to the park now? I need some time to play by myself!

Colton and Donuts
C: You don't have to take care of the babies if you don't.
Me: If I don't?
C: Yeah, you could just feed them.
Me: Isn't feeding them taking care of them?
C: A little bit.
Dad: There, are you happy now?
C: I won't be happy until I finish my donut!
...
Dad: Happy now?
C: Yeah.
Dad & C went to Frost donuts today and scored Silvertips tickets and autographs!
C: Mom, how would you like to make some donuts today?
Me: I don't have a deep fryer, buddy. I can't.
C: Why?
Me: Because I don't.
C: Are you gonna choose a granola bar?
Dad: No, I'm not hungry.
C: Well, when you are, just let me know, and you can choose the green kind or the other kind.
Mmm, green kind.
Me: What kind of pasta did you choose?
C: The kind that's inside!
C: Would you make the sun stop? It's too bright for me.
Glad you think I have that kind of power!

Colton Is Fast
Dad: Hey Colton, before you start talking, think about what you're going to say.
C: Why?
Dad: It will stop you from saying 'uh' all the time.
C: But that's how I wanted to think!
C: I turned a lot at hockey when I was just going halfway fast.
Me: Halfway fast?
C: Yeah, almost as fast as motorcycles!
C: Are these pajamas too comfy for you?
Me: No, I think they look very snuggly.
C: Yeah, I think they're too snug!
(Snug meaning snuggly, not ill-fitting, considering they're brand new)

Colton on Growing
C talking to D
C: Why do babies cry when people are bigger than them?
Me: They don't know how to talk yet, so they talk to us by crying.
Me: I think it's time to put these in the too-small box.
C: Why can't people just stay the same?
Me: Don't you want to grow big & tall?
Dad: And play hockey professionally?
C: Yeah! Dad, I will use my muscles to see how big you are.
Dad: I'm 6'.
C: And I think you're too tall for my map!
C: My jammies are too small because I was growing last night. Let's put them in the box for my babies to have a turn!
C: Hey Dad, let’s always get big and strong.
Dad: That sounds good buddy.
C: Yeah, and let’s never get fat!
(Dad: I’ll remember that next time you want to go to McDonald's after hockey!)
C: Can I have candy now?
Me: After lunch.Dad: That sounds good buddy.
C: Yeah, and let’s never get fat!
(Dad: I’ll remember that next time you want to go to McDonald's after hockey!)
C: Can I have candy now?
C: Why after lunch? You just aren't making me very happy today.

Goodnight Moon
Colton & Jensen
C: It's a moony and starry night!
C: Mom, I wished on the moon!
C: Would you like to go outside and wish on some stars?
Dad: I already made a wish.
C: What did you wish for?
Dad: It didn't come true.
...
C: My wish didn't come true either!
Dad: What did you wish for?
C: For the trees to not be trees!

Getting Rid of Mom
C: But I don't want to go! I didn't get enough exercise tonight!
An hour plus at the playground and he went ice skating earlier... but that's not enough.
C: How long is your class?
Me: An hour. You can stay and play that whole time.
C: They should make the gym longer!
Me: I'm good with an hour.
C: Why?
Me: Because an hour is a long time to exercise.
C: Would you mind if we make our house bigger so we can fit better?
Me: No, no I wouldn’t mind.
C: Do we live in a brick house?
Me: No.
C: Why?
Me: Stop asking why.
C: Well, we could just make our house bigger. And it would go over a creek. Would that be a good idea?
C: You don't have any responsibilities to me anymore.
Me: Oh?
C: Yeah, I want another mommy. Someone can put a baby in your tummy. A girl baby.
Me: But I don't want any more babies.
C: But she can just grow and grow, and be a mommy!
Me: I'm not growing you another mommy.
C: How would you like to go live with Nana?
Me: No thanks, buddy.
C: Why?
Me: As much as you're trying to get rid of me, I like my house, thanks.
He was mad at me for not turning around to get his flashlight, which was his responsibility to remember.

Colton on Nutrition
C: Here's your new iPod, but I didn't put any of your games on it.
Me: Well, why would I want that?
C: Because I just know how to play 3 games.
Me: Get dressed, buddy.
C: I can't. My mothers are too tired.
Me: Your mothers are too tired? Yes, yes I am.
C: No, my muscles are too tired!
C: Can I have some candy?
Me: No, because the lunch we're having is a treat, so we don't need candy too.
C: I don't call it a treat. It's a good vegetable for me, and will make me run really fast!
LOL, Spuds is a veggie? Score!
Me: What are you going to remember today when we go on a bike ride?
C: To listen.
Me: Yes, and make sure that you can always see me.
C: I will just stop at the corners! Is that a good idea? And I will use my binoculars, so I can always see you.
C: That bike ride really tired me out.
Me: That was the point.
C: And now I have lots of energy!
Me: Wait a minute....

Colton Wants Candy
C: I finished with my mac and cheese and am still hungry! Can I have candy now?
Me: Do you want some spaghetti?
C: No, I'm fine with candy.
C: Candy will make me big and strong!
Me: No buddy, candy has sugar in it, and is a treat to have from time to time.
C: Why does candy have sugar in it?
C: Mom, here's a choice. You can listen to my Tron music or my regular music when we go to hockey.
Me: You don't want to listen to your new hockey music?
C: I do! I'll put it in the Tron case!
C: The first two times I pushed the buttons, it didn't work. I think the music has a problem. I think the music was downloading when I put it in. (C had some difficulty getting his music to play)
C: What flavor is this candy?
Me: Sugar.
C: Stop saying that!
C: This smells like a good flavor!
C: When am I going to bed?
Me: At 8.
C: But remember, I don't like 8.
C: Look Mom, my hockey music came with it's own case! So whenever we go somewhere, we won't have to just hold it in our hands!

Colton & Candy
Colton "working"
C: If you make us a cave of darkness, I'll stay in it forever! But I will miss my brother, and I will be hungry.
Me: Have a little candy there?
C: I have lots and lots! I have some on both sides [of the table]!
C: I am working [looking at candy], so don't let any of the babies cry. If they do, just tell me.
C: That bag is for you to take to work! But you can only choose one at a time. And the other bag is for me to keep for the babies when they get old enough to have candy.
Me: I can only do one thing at a time.
C: Well Mom, you just have two hands!
Me: I'm hungry!
C: You can have some of my candy.
Me: I'm hungrier than a piece of candy.
C: It's candy or nothing!
Where have I heard this argument before?
