(We were racing to see if I could get the kitchen cleaned faster than he could get his puzzle together.  I won and it resulted in a meltdown since somebody was tired.)

C: I have a speedy car!
Me: You do? What color is it?
C: Silver!
Me: Is it a sports car, a station wagon, or a mini van?
C: It's a silver minivan!

We mosey over to the playground and he goes to steer.  To some random kid ~ 
C: This is my car!  It's a silver minivan!

Me: Oh, I got the candy cane!

C: Now you don't get to win!

Me: Are you gonna be tall like Mama?

C: Yeah, if I take lots of naps.

C: I don't want to leave (the park)!  I want to stay here forever & ever!

Me: That's a long time.  What happens when it gets dark?

C: I just want to stay til breakfast.

C: Is it summer? 

Me: No, buddy.. 41° and sunny does not a summer make.

C: When I am all done playing in my sandbox, I want to go swimming out here!

Again, it's a little on the cold side today!

Me: Do you want to go with me to get our fruit box tomorrow?
C: Yeah, and I will carry it in!
Me: It's pretty heavy, so do you want to help me?
C: Yeah, you can carry the end and I'll carry the middle side!

C: If you don't let me have dessert one more time, I won't let you talk anymore!

C: I'm checking the size on my new sandal-shoes!
(They're new shoes, but he keeps calling them sandals.  And he would really like to take them to bed with him tonight.)

C: I'm getting a big sucker!

C: Babies don't eat popcorns because they'll choke. So I won't share my popcorn with my baby, I'll just eat it by myself.

C: In Candy Land, I got the gingerbread man. Why did I get the gingerbread man? 
Me: I don't know.
C: I think because there's a gingerbread man.

C: You get to watch something tonight!
Me: Yeah? What should I watch?
C: Men is on. You get to watch Men!  (Two and a Half Men)

C: Hey, what is that?
Me: It's just Google.
C: Did we take it to Phoenix?
Me: Yeah.  You can get Google anywhere on the internet!

Me: And there you are in Phoenix.
C: Phoenix!  I want to go there right now! 
Me: Me too.

Watching the NHL Allstar game ~ C grabs the Xbox controller and asks to 'help' the players.

And a note on making peanut butter cookies... it takes twice the time & utensils when your helper keeps licking the fork when you turn your back.

Dad: I poked my tummy and it popped right back out.

Me: Oh no, I got the Gingerbread Man and have to go back to the beginning.
Dad: That's what you get for getting such a head start.
C: We'll win for you, Mom!
Me: Oh gee, thanks.

Me: Do you want some eggs or a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch?
C: I want a grilled cheese, and a cheese sandwich.  I want two kinds of lunches! 

C: Hansel and Breadable!

C: Is my dad still at my home?
Me: Yeah.
C: Why?
Me: He's taking a nap.
C: Why?
Me: Because he was tired.
C: Is he not going on our date?
Me: We're going on our date later.

Me: Did you see that awesome sunset tonight?
C: Yeah! And while you were looking at it, I took the sun back out!

C: You have to say sorry that I bite my tongue.
Me: Sorry, kiddo.
I'm pretty impressed that was his only injury!  He helped me chop all the veggies--ALL BY MYSELF--in tonight's dinner.

C: Mom, I will tell you what you can see!
Me: What do I see?
C: I can't see; it's too dark.

C: Mom, why didn't we use your car in Phoenix?
Me: Because it would cost to much to fly it there.
C: Oh, but I will turn it into an airplane! But I won't put any wings on it.
Me: Then how will it fly?
C: I'll put a helicopter on it!

C: You're a goof!
Dad: No, you're the goof!
C: We're both goofs!

Commuting with Colton

C: I'm too hot.
Me: I'll turn down the heat again.  I'm just right.
C: Me too.  But Bridger's wrong!
Sorry Bridger, but I had to stifle a laugh when he said that!

C: At Kathy & Bridger's, I put on my coat all by myself!
Me: Great job!
C: Maybe, next time, when you're a little boy who can't put on your coat, I will help you! 


C: I don't like being safe. 

Me: How come?

C: Because I will fall off the houses and right into the trees! I will knock down those trees and cut them into teenie-tiny pieces! And they won't be able to open again! 

Me: They won't be able to open, huh?

C: Not til Sunday. In 10 days!

Me: I see.


C: And next time Mom, don't run out of gas and stop getting gas!

 

C: I don't like this light.  It's too dark.  The blue sky will come down and give you dark light!

C: But Mom, I'm still hungry!

Me: I know, your spicy egg is still cooking (hard-boiled)!

C: I'd just like 10!

Me: It doesn't have the things I like to read on it.
