Colton on Birthdays

C: Mooooom, I'm SO tired of waiting for my birthday. It's so long and it isn't even today.
Me: I know, buddy.  What should we do for your birthday?
C: I'm hoping I get one thousand presents!
Me: That would be a lot.
C: And maybe you should give me some presents.
Me: I probably will, since it will be your birthday.
C: And maybe you can give me your computer!
Me: I don't think so!
C: That would be nasty!
Nasty? Lol, okay...

Me: Remember to wash your hair tonight.
C: And then I will be sparkling!  And I wouldn't have to take a bath ever again until I get dirty.

C: I heard a sound that sounded like Angry Birds!

C: I'm exhausted because I used up all my Angry Birds energy.

Me: It will record on Monday.
C: And do you know when Monday is?
Me: Yes.
C: Oh.

Colton on Dinner Planning

Love the tongue!
Wearing my running shoes ~
C: These are superstar shoes! You can do anything in these shoes!

C: I'm going to eat 3 carrots, Sarah, cuz I almost like them!

Running toward me ~
C: Mom, I think I need new brakes!  They're oily.  But since I've been using them, the oil's been melting!

C: When are we gonna have rab-e-oli again?
Me: I don't know.  Probably soon.
C: *Gasp!* That's what I always wanted for a hundred more days!
Guess we're having a lot of ravioli... hope we don't get sick of it!

Colton on Where to Live

At soccer today
C: Do you remember when we went to Phoenix?
Me: I do.  Do you remember?
C: Yeah.  I wish we could go to Phoenix again.
Me: Me too.  What did you like about Phoenix?
C: Oh.  They made all our food there, and we could go there again so you won't be so busy.
😢

C: This road is too bumpy. Can we live somewhere else where the road isn't as bumpy?

Nanan: Should I take this baby home with me?
C: Yeah, so Mom can get more sleep!
Nanan: Well, then I'd have to take two, huh?

Nanan: And I would like to...
C: Buy my own iPod!

Nanan: I felt...  How did you feel today?
C: I felt Angry Birds today!

Colton Is Learning

Of course the goggles are upside down!
C: I'm gonna go wash my hands to get rid of my cold!
...
C: Guess what, Mom?! One of my colds is gone!  My cough-cold is gone, but I still have my snot-cold.

C: When there's a circle and a line through it, that means you can't go that way.
Me: That's right.  Did you see them on the driving game?
C: Yeah, when I was driving into the wall!

C: CAN I PLAY ON YOUR IPOD? CAN I PLAY ON YOUR IPOD? CAN I PLAY ON YOUR IPOD?
Me: No.
C: Hi, Mom.
Me: Hi, buddy.
C: Did you have a nice day?
Me: Yes, thanks, buddy.

Me: What was your favorite animal at the zoo?
C: The zebra!
Me: How many zebras did you see?
C: I don't know if we saw any.

Me: Want me to get your bath started?
C: No.  Closer to my bedtime.
Me: If you don't go now, you won't have much time to play.
C: So I will just have to wash and then go straight to bed?
Me: Pretty much.
C: How about we take a bath together?
Me: I already took a shower, so I'm good.
C: When will you forget?
Me: Maybe after running on Sunday.
C: And we can have a boat race! You can drive the submarine and I will drive the really fast boat!
Me: Oh yeah? And which one will win?
C: I don't know.

C: Do you see my swim goggles on the stairs?
Me: Nope, but you can go look.
C: Nope!  They aren't where they aren't!

Colton's Adventures in Eating

We do not eat our babies!
Me: You have soccer tomorrow!
C: And will you be there?
Me: No, I have to take your brothers to the doctor.
C: When are you gonna take me to the doctor?
Me: You don't need to go to the doctor.  Why do you want to go?
C: You have to take me because I have this horrible cold!

C: I can tell you something!  Easy peasy pumpkin easy.  And I can say it backward!  Easy….pumpkin… and that’s it.  I said easy pumpkin!

Me: Would you like to take a bath tonight?
C: Just after one more day!

C: It's a game where we can do whatever we want without arguing!

C: Let's play Chutes and Letters!

Jordan: What's his name again?
C: Mr. Picostco!

Jordan: Colton says his sandbox is an Elmo turtle!
Me: It does look like an Elmo turtle. [red crab sandbox]

C: Hi Mom!  I'm just licking the [peanut] butter!

C: Oh hi, Mom!
Me: What are you eating?
C: I'm just eating the lemonade mix.
????

Me: Why were you eating sand?
C: Sorry.
Me: Isn’t that kind of gross?
C: No, I like it!
Me: Well, go wash out your mouth.

Colton's Special Day

This is what I get when I ask him to pose nicely with his crown.

*Special Days are Birthday equivalents for summer b-days at school.

Me: You have a hard job today.
C: What is it?
Me: You have to lick the beaters!
C: That's because I am pretty lickable!

While I'm dishing out cake ~
C: Mom, can I lick your fingers?

C: I'm gonna practice being the king!

C: Look, I'm the pokey king!
(wearing his crown around his face, points out)

Me: What was your favorite part of the day?
C: Eating cake!

Colton Gets up Early

Poor kiddo had to get up at 6a ~
C: I'm really very really, really tired.

Me: What would you like for breakfast?
C: It needs to be light out first.

Me: Here, why don't you play Angry Birds for a few minutes.
C: *Gasp* That's what I always wanted!

Dad: Who do you want to read to you tonight?
C: You both!
Dad: Pick one.
C: You both!
Dad: No, pick one of us.
C: Mom!  Because I love her.
Booger!

Me: Are you gonna have a good sleep?
C: Yeah, and make sure you don't wake me up in the morning.  I don't like being woken up.

C: I'm gonna spell "Colton M&M please" so Dad knows I want M&Ms!

Colton Does Sunday

Spud's!
C: Will you take me to the park so I can flip off the slide?
Wait, what?  LOL!

C: Can I have some of your chicken?
Me: Fish, buddy.  Fish.  We're at Spud's!

C: I want fish sandwiches!  Good idea?
Dad: That's a good idea, buddy, but I don't know how make make them.
C: First you turn the oven on for a hundred and eight million minutes and then you get the fish.  But make sure you don't put any onions in there!  I don't like onions.

C: There's a bird!
Me: Is it an Angry Bird?
C: No. It's just a bird.
Me: How do I know that it's not an Angry Bird?
C: Oh. It just has a beak and a tail.

C biked the river trail while I ran ~
C: Mom, my legs are just wored out!

C: Can we stop now?
Me: No, we're almost to the car.
C: But I just want to hug you.
Me: You can hug me at the car.  Besides, I'm all sweaty!  Do you really want to hug me now?
C: Yeah!

And after allllllll the complaining and threats to not bring him the next time I went running ~
C: Mom, thanks for bringing me running!

C: I'm a pretty fast runner!  But Kathy says we shouldn't run in the house.
Me: No, you probably shouldn't.

C: When you blow on this [dandelion gone to seed], you get magic dust! And magic dust gives me more energy!

Me: That's a pretty impressive burger, buddy.
C: And it's pretty!

Dad: You leave messes everywhere.  Do I need to print up your chart again?
Me: In fact, I did one of your chores last night. I picked up your clothes.
C: So give me one money!
Dad: I'm gonna give the money to Mom!

Colton & Angry Birds

Got C a new Angry Birds shirt.  We needed
a little variety...and time to wash the other one!

C: Why is that lady up late?
Me: Her sign says she doesn't have a home and that she needs money.
C: But we have a house!  She can come to our house and she can sleep on my bottom bunk!  Next time can we bring her home?
Me: You're a very nice boy, buddy.

C: I see a bird!
Dad: Is it angry?
C: No, it's just a bird.

C: Hurry and finish!
Me: Why?
C: So Dad can eat without cooking.

C: How come it's peace and calm?

C: What is that big, rock thing?
Me: It's a climbing rock.  People climb up it.
C: My legs are too short for that.

C: My hic-um-ups are gone, but now my brain hurts.

C: There's only one noodle left for Dad! *gasp*
Me: Dad's having what I'm having, not spaghetti.
C: Oh. Then can I have the last noodle?

C: This [bubble bath] makes the water smell the same as the soap!

Colton on Game Play

C: I'm not gonna play with you if you keep winning the whole time!

for today's photos!
C: Why do you want to win?

C: Look at me! I'm really good at this game! Mom, you're not very good at all.
I didn't realize one could be good/bad at Candy Land.

C: But you're not better; I'm gooder!

Me: How about some fruit?
C: No, I just want candy.
Me: How about some fruit?
C: I'm too hungry for fruit. I just need some candy.
Me: How about some fruit?
C: Sometimes when I eat a good lunch, my Nana lets me have a sucker.
Me: Your Nana would make you eat your apples. She even makes me eat my salad.
C: You don't know!
Me: I do know!

C: Why isn't the music working? I think it needs more power!
Me: No, it needs less fingerprints on the CD.
