C: Here's a smile for you, Mom!
(Mom was grumpy today.)

C: Can I have some of your gum?

Me: I don't have any.

C: Did you run out?

Me: Yeah.

C: Maybe I can buy some.  It will be chocolate, and peanut butter, and strawberry kind. Will you like that?

Me: ... uhhh 

C: This heater is making me feel really warm and I think it's pulling my hair. 

C: The sun is coming out for you, Mom!

Me: Hooray!

C: We're eating like a family again!

Me: Yep.

C: And I'm the dad!

Me: Am I the mom?

C: No, you're the Colton! And you get to play.  If you need help playing, I will help you!
