How Do You Feel a Cake?
New Play-doh cake set ~ picked out with all his change from his piggies!
C: Hey Dad, how does this cake feel?
C: What are we having for dinner?
Me: Beer-braised beef.
C: I don't like beer in my food!
Me: Good, because you're too young to drink it.
Dad: Mama bonked me on the head (on accident!) and gave me an owie. Will you kiss it?
C: Sure! Dad, if you don't pick at your owie, it won't heal.
Dad: If I don't pick at my owie, it will heal!
C: Can I come on your date tonight?
Dad: Sorry, buddy, not this time.

Colton Is so Helpful
C: Blueberry pancakes! And can I help?
Me: Sure. You can dump the blueberries in.
C: And I want to eat them!
Me: That would sure help.
C: Do you like me when I say, "Are you ready to play Go Fish?" and I say, "No"? That means no!
Guess I'd better play with him, eh?
Me: I was teasing.
C: I don't want you to tease me! It's not time for teasing!
Me: When do I get to tease you?
C: After Go Fish!
C: ... and it'll be ready to go to THE MOON! But not you, Mom. You have to stay here on Earth.
Me: How come I can't go to the moon?
C: Because it's far, far, far away on the other side of the blocking lane!
(Heh, I told him if he got dressed all by himself that he could have a cookie when we go to the store)
C: If you get your socks on all by yourself, you can have a BIG COOKIE from Safeway too! It's a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE cookie like mine!

Colton on How to Eat a Salad
Me: Mama is going to have a big salad!
C: Up to the roof?
Me: Maybe. I'm pretty hungry.
C: You first have to stand up and start at the top. Then from the middle, the middle, and the middle, and then the bottom.
Me: Sounds like a good plan.
C: Is Daddy going to be home when we get there?
Me: Nope, we're going to beat him.
C: We gonna won the race!
C: Mom, you get to won outside, and I get to won going up the stairs!

Colton Tells It
Seriously? How old is my child?
Me: Uhm, no.C: Mom, do you like it when I leave your stuff at Kathy & Bridger's? C: Then next time, don't forget my owl! Yesterday, the golden tunnels were sunbeams that he was running his fire truck through.
C: Mom, are you doing the speed lemon?
Me: Yep!
C: One day, I ran over the speed lemon!
C: There was a golden tunnel. Me: Uh-oh, and then what happened. Me: Oh? And then what? C: Next? It was closed. Me: Was Henry inside? C: No. It was empty. Me: Are you going to open it?
C: No. It was just old.
C: At the North Pole, there aren't any parking spots. So you'll just have to park where there aren't any parking spots.
C: Because that one doesn't use any.Me: Why aren't there any parking spots at the North Pole?
C: I just have twenty more stops! And then I will pick you up and we'll go to the North Pole and get something for Christmas!
C: Mom, when you sneeze, I call it a 'sundheit! (sounds like zoo-tight) C: This word says "Put away your fire truck when it's time to put away your fire truck." That's what this whole word says. (Reading the words FIRE DEPARTMENT on the side of his truck) | |

Me: Yay, it's sunny today!
C: It's almost gonna be spring!
Me: Woohoo!
C: Hey Mom, do you want to climb on the airplane with me?
Me: Mmm, not right now, buddy.
C: You just have to be a little kid!

C: Hey Mom, I'm coming out of you!
C: We're at the Phoenix airport! Do you want to come? At Phoenix, there aren't any marshmallows.
Me: None?!
C: No. There are just 10.
C: This wheel's kind of rough and it doesn't make a lot of friction!

Colton Makes a Rainbow
C: Remember, when it’s dark outside and it’s Christmastime and the Polar Express is leaving, you have to stop the train!
C: Mom, I really want to go back to Phoenix!
Me: Me too!
C: I don't want to take a nap! I don’t know how to go to sleep. It’s too hard to close my eyes.
C: What does red, lellow, and blue make?
Me: I don’t know, what color does it make?
C: It makes a rainbow!
Uh-oh... can't find his owl tonight.
Me: I'm sorry, buddy, but you'll have to sleep with one of your other friends.
C: But I don't like these friends!
Me: Your friends are sad that you don't like them.
C: No they aren't. I'll give them a boo-boo bunny!
Me: Me too!

Monster Is for Mom!
Me: You forgot the board. It's hard to play Candy Land without it!
C: No, it's not!
Dad: You need to sit here.
C: But I am sitting here!
Dad: No, this is my chair. Over there is your chair.
C: Let's start a new family!
Me: Uhhh.
Sesame Street: What begins with M?
Me: What's that Monster's name?
C: Mom!
Me: Are you ready for Abby's Flying Fairy School?
C: No. I want to stay home today!
C: I can race AND settle down.
Me: Dad's home!
C: Which dad?
Me: How many dads do you have?
C: One.
C: Mom, do you like peppers?
Me: I do!
C: I do too! But sometimes I don't.

Colton Comes to the Rescue
C: There's a stool in the kitchen.
Me: I know.
C: It's for me!
Me: I figured.
C: Mom, can I help make dinner?
Me: Yes, please!
C: I'll come to the rescue!
Me: Are you going to help me spin the lettuce?
C: Yeah! And I'll observe it!
C: I want sour cream for dinner!
Me: Just sour cream?
C: And beans. And sprinkle cheese! And crunchy red pepper!
Me: Any salad with that?
C: No. Just beans.
Me: Thanks for helping me make dinner!
C: You're welcome! It's delicious!
C: I made an investigation, and you use this cup holder and this spinner, and that's how you make a lettuce spinner!
Me: Let's not play at the table and eat our salads.
C: I kinda don't like my salad.
Me: Why not?
C: You gave me too much sprinkle cheese!
Me: How can you ever have too much sprinkle cheese?
C: Because you gave me too much.
